Unilever is a purpose-led global company that owns over four hundred brands we use every day. Its purpose is to make sustainable living commonplace by empowering consumers to make responsible choices. In this episode, I have a great conversation with Unilever’s CEO of Health & Wellness, Jostein Solheim, about the new division he is leading for Unilever and his re-radicalizing of Ben & Jerry’s, the activist ice-cream brand he led for 8 years.
Jostein became the Group CEO and Unilever EVP Global Health & Wellness in June 2021. Prior to this role, he was the Head of Unilever Foods and Refreshment Division, North America, since July of 2018, and prior to that he was the CEO for Ben & Jerry’s for the past 8 years, and successfully expanded the iconic business across 38 countries while further increasing its social mission reach and impact. Jostein spent 15 years in Unilever’s ice cream businesses across Europe, Eastern Europe, and North America before leading Ben & Jerry’s. Prior to that, he worked within Unilever’s Corporate Strategy department supporting the global Foods business. Jostein is a devoted advocate for diversity, environmental conservation, and social justice. He graduated from the London School of Economics, an institution that pride’s itself on educating for impact.
