For the past three decades, Geoff has persisted in brain injury and disability service delivery, advocacy, research, education and prevention at local, regional and national levels. In that time he has helped develop programs that have supported thousands to become more effective self-advocates, as well as innovations in medical and community-based services to improve outcomes and decrease costs.
He currently serves as CEO of the Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa, as a Commissioner of the Iowa Mental Health and Disability Services Commission; as a consultant to the Mayo Clinic’s brain injury research center; and is Chair-elect of the United States Brain Injury Alliance.
Geoff has provided training and supported efforts in brain injury policy change in more than 40 states. He has testified before the US Senate as an expert in emerging challenges in the field of brain injury.
He holds a Master’s degree in health communications, is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist, a beekeeper and lives in Iowa City, IA with his wife Erika and their children.
